Recently, I was invited along to the Walsall Black Sisters Collective for the launch of their Vulnerable Women’s Project after successfully receiving funding from The National Lottery for this brand-new three-year initiative.
I met some incredible women at this cheque presentation and listened to stories from many of how different challenges and circumstances had helped to shape them and the outlook on life they had today. I was humbled by listening to stories from Local Area Councillor, Eileen Russell, Chair of WBSC, Wendy Angus-Bovell and reminded of how, when women work together to empower each other, good things happen.
Below is a heartfelt write up of the project aims and objectives of this new project written by the Social Media and Communications Officer for Walsall BSC, Bianca – Jade Adeniran.

Walsall Community Network is proud to work alongside Walsall Black Sisters Collective and this latest achievement is testament to the dedication and hard work of Maureen and the team across all projects they are involved in. We wish them all the best of luck with this new Vulnerable Women’s Project and look forward to sharing further news and the incredible, positive impact this will have on the lives of many, many women across Walsall.
